VoIP Services in the UK to get a Boost

The telecommunications giant of the United Kingdom, and the internet service provider that is leading a superfast fibre optic broadband campaign in the country, BT looks all set to provide the British communities with the opportunity to declare their interest in the advanced broadband service in a move that could offer the ideal impetus for VoIP services in the UK.

The telecommunications giant is apparently aiming to establish itself with the help of its ‘The Race to Infinity’ survey in those areas where demand for superfast broadband UK is greatest. This programme will be running until the end of 2010.

BT will then upload the acquired responses onto a website for allowing itself to determine the regions that would then be connected to the fibre optic broadband internet network of the internet service provider.

It is anticipated that the rolling out of the superfast broadband internet services by BT, based on the fibre optic technology could considerably improve the VoIP call quality, as more voice data can be supported by faster download speeds.

In the circumstances, it is also worth mentioning the view of the British telecommunications minister, Ed Vaizey that a good number of people around the United Kingdom wanted access to superfast broadband in their region.

Vaizey had said that he warmly welcomed all initiatives that would lead to private investment in fibre optic broadband networks, and applauded the BT’s way of engaging its customers for ensuring that investment reached the people that wanted it the most.
