Vodafone and BT Teams up to Offer Small Business Broadband
A partnership has been reportedly struck between UK broadband providers Vodafone UK and BT to effect the launch of a range of broadband service options for small and medium-sized business firms across the country. The team up would also see the extension of a prevailing long-term partnership, which allows Vodafone to capitalise on the telecommunication technology of BT, as a solution for UK entrepreneurs.
Here, BT Wholesale will provide Vodafone UK with access to its VoIP (voice over internet protocol) telephony service systems as well as business broadband packages, as part of a five year agreement. This deal will also see that the technology can be repackaged by Vodafone into a sole fixed line solution under its One Net banner.
Apart from all these, the business broadband customers will also be provided with the option to promote themselves to more advanced broadband connections, as and when such connections are launched in their locations.
According to Vodafone UK’s enterprise director, Peter Kelly, the move was all the more significant for its helping the broadband provider to connect with businesses searching for a unified broadband service that addressed their requirements for both fixed-line and mobile broadband telecommunications.
