Virgin Media ready to interrupt illegal file sharers
Virgin Media UK has paired up with Universal Music to establish a fresh and free music download and streaming service. It is expected that with this move, it shall give all illegal file sharers a worthy legal substitute to piracy. Armed with these new developments the ISP is planning to enforce a temporary suspension upon the unyielding illegal downloader’s internet access.
These services will modify any broadband consumer of Virgin Media to download numerous music tracks and albums, as much as they want from the Universal Music’s catalogue by paying a less monthly subscription fee, which has not yet been decided. Those who download music on regular basis are provided with an entry level offer without an unlimited service.
The virgin media is planning to launch its project by this year and presently is pulling off terms with other major music labels and publishers to assure a complete music data catalogue by the time they launch their project. Both Virgin Media and Universal Music are planning to work together to create an awareness in the minds of file sharers about online piracy. Finally, Virgin Media has also decided to temporarily withdraw internet access as a last resort, againstr persistent downloaders.
The company also assures that no consumer will be permanently unplugged. They add that they will not interfere in network supervising or interception of consumer traffic as well.
