Virgin Media announces quadplay deal

Virgin Media recently announced that it had selected a firm to offer consumers quadplay services that combines video, voice, data and mobile communications. Nominum is a provider of IP address infrastructure solutions network naming and address solutions. This provides broadband bundles of services which counts broadband provider BT among its customers.

Network systems product architect at Virgin Media, Keith Oborn mentioned that the firm had to update its domain name system infrastructure to merge the services of NTL, Telewest, Virgin.net and Virgin broadband.

An achievement of Nominum was that they were given the Internet Telephony Magazine 2006 award for the product of the year earlier this year. Considering the success of the previous projects done with Nominum, the firm has decided that its products offered the best solution to deliver on the quality of experience goals, while enabling anticipated growth for the company.

It is also to be noted that Nominum will be proving the broadband Providers with network services software and will support its IP-enabled facilities.
