Trail of 5G Wireless Broadband by EE

EE, the UK’s largest mobile operator has announced that they are going for a live trial of its wireless ultrafast 5G broadband services in the month of October 2018 in London. The operator has already tested inside their doors of its 5G speeds at 2.8 Gbps and for the first time, the live trial will be done using its 5G prototype devices at ten sites across East London’s Tech City including real customers at five homes and five small business premises. The local areas in the list may include City Road, Hoxton Square, Old Street and Chiswell Street.

The trial will also show the ability of its 5G service giving the highest speed even at the more population regions. It has been confirmed by EE that they will use a 3.5GHz based (spectrum band) set up for this trial. EE uses its social media to find out the first trialists who are willing for trying its new technology.

Margot James – UK Minister for Digital said that the government desire to have the UK as the leading position in 5G technology with its aim to make their country to become a global leader in digital economy. With this trial programmes, this will help to take the benefits of the new technologies to the consumers and businesses in the UK.

CEO, BT Consumer Business – Mark Allera stated that this trial is a forward step in EE’s business which aims to bring the benefits of new technology 5G to their customers and making the UK to be top in 5G tecnology. EE is using their entire experience and resources to bring the best speed and coverage to its customers and want to be the leader in the UK market. 5G is a basic part of its work and to frame a smart network to keep the customers stay connected.

Even Three UK also informed that they will do their 5G trial in 2019.
