Tiscali broadband customers reach 2.6 million

Tiscali, the Italian based ISP released its financial results for the quarter ended 30, September 2007. Presently, Tiscali ISP has 2.6 million broadband customers thanks to addition of 20,000 new connections added  during the first nine months of this year. Take over of Pipex broadband division also helped to increase the customer base of the Italian based broadband provider by 720,000. Among the total Tiscali customers, direct customers are estimated to be over one million, 74 % rise during the last ten months. There were just half a million direct customers by the end of December 2006.

During 2007, Tiscali merged with Video Networks and started Tiscali TV and now, there are estimated to be 36,000 Tiscali TV customers. Despite a decline in TV customers when compared with the figure before the acquisition, Tiscali believes that the acquisition of Video Networks and the take over of Pipex’s voice & broadband division helped Tiscali to compete with other major UK broadband providers and to strengthen its place in the UK telecom market as a major triple play provider.
