Three (3) mobile broadband provider to offer HP laptops

Earlier it was Carphone Warehouse and Phones 4u to bundle laptops and mobile broadband dongles with their mobile broadband packages. Now, the UK mobile operator, Three (3) mobile just followed the suit and became the first mobile operator to do so with its announcement to offer 3G enabled laptops with its mobile broadband offers, according to the report published in Mobile Today.

It seems that the free laptop and mobile broadband dongle offers are expected to enhance the sales figures of the mobile ISP during coming Christmas season. Accordingly, Three will launch these promotional offers from the first week of August. It is also expected that other mobile operators like Vodafone and Orange are likely to come with such special offers to lure the customers in the coming months.

According to the report, 3 mobile broadband packages will offer 5GB of usage allowance for monthly price ranging between £30 and £40. It should be noted that dongles are hot in the broadband market which are being sold at rate of more than 30,000 per week. The promotional deals will offer dongles to the new customers who sign a minimum 12 month contract while laptops will be offered to the customers who are ready to commit to two years contract.

Meanwhile, George McPherson of DataSelect commented:
“We are working on propositions across a number of sectors. We have to be thinking in terms of what clawbacks there might be.
‘There are propositions we are working through right now. This is flavour of the month. But we have to ensure it is not a cashback flavour of the month.”

It should be noted that Vodafone has recently signed a deal with Lenova to distribute 3G enabled laptops to its customers. However, Orange, another major mobile broadband provider, is also set to stock laptops in their stores in next two months. Meanwhile, Three (3) mobile broadband provider has struck a deal with Hewlett Packard to offer three HP laptops with its mobile broadband packages which will be launched next month.
