The Need to Go Broadband

Two years ago, UK Broadband industry is not performing at its peak. For one thing, not all Britons are sold on the idea to switch to broadband - not even with the cheapest broadband plans being offered around. A lot of people are content with their slow dial-up connections, which at that time, is sufficient to serve their immediate Internet surfing needs.

But that was two years ago. Today's a different scenario. Now, getting a broadband Internet connection is the latest wave. And all those people who are sticking with their dial-ups are left behind. Why do you think subscribers are making the move? It is because the most popular web applications today rely so much on bandwidth, speed, and a reliable Internet connection for them to run properly.

How else can you conviniently watch video blogs if your connection speed is low? If you have tried watching videos from YouTube using a dial-up connection, your experience for sure, isn't a pleasant one. The same is true for live media streams. Nowadays, enjoying your favorite TV shows, making phone calls, and conducting teleconferences over the Internet are all possible; but not through your dial-up internet connection.

One other thing that made Broadband Internet quite popular in residential homes is gaming. Computers have always been popular for the complex games developed over the years. And now that access to cheap broadband had become a lot easier, gaming was taken to another level - internet gaming. Internet gaming makes it possible for all avid players over the Internet to match against other gamers located any where the world. If you have slow dial-up though, you can't participate in these games. And that's because of the simple fact that your character could be dead right after the game has started, considering the speed that you are going.
