The news from Virgin Media confirms that he quits not only from his position as the company's CEO but also from Virgin Media board. The company says Neil Berkett will become the Acting CEO immediately and he will lead the company until the new, fulltime Chief Executive is appointed. During the brief stint as the CEO of Virgin Media, Steve Burch played a great role in the transformation of Virgin Media into a major cable broadband provider in the UK. It was during his tenure, NTL and Televewest merged to form Virgin Media and later Virgin Media acquired Virgin mobile which is one of the major mobile services in the UK.
