The Carphone Warehouse releases report on its LLU network

The Carphone Warehouse, the leading LLU operator in UK published the Interim Management Statement for the quarter of last year. According to the report, the ISP has activated 118,000 new connections during this quarter and currently, the total number of its customers shoots up to 2,604,000. More than half of its customers (61 percent) are connected to the ISP’s Local looped lines.

The ISP which owns broadband providers AOL and TalkTalk has also unbundled over 2500 exchanges till date. The report says AOL has unbundled 924 exchanges while the largest LLu operator TalkTalk has unbundled 1,533 exchanges. In addition, the Carphone Warehouse has shifted over 221,000 of its customers from BT lines to its own LLU network.

Due to these healthy changes that take place over its LLU lines, the ISP was upbeat about the growth prospects of the company in future. This is revealed by the following statement made by the ISP:

“We now expect total net adds in the second half to be towards the upper end of the 200-250,000 range indicated in October 2007. Despite significant numbers of TalkTalk customers coming out of their initial 18 month contract period, we saw no increase in churn levels. Blended broadband ARPU was stable at £22.1.”
