TalkTalk mulling over its own Broadband Network

TalkTalk Fibre Optic BroadbandIt is widely perceived that one of the leading broadband and home phone bundle providers operating in the United Kingdom, TalkTalk is all set to launch a superfast broadband internet network of its own across the United Kingdom.

The broadband providing company is the telecommunications wing of the mobile phone retail giant of the UK, Carphone Warehouse. TalkTalk has been further reported of mulling over the scope of making a large-scale broadband internet infrastructure investment.

This is highly significant as the biggest broadband provider in the country, BT was at present investing GBP 1.5 billion on the upgrade work of its telecom network, with a view to boost the existing broadband internet access speeds delivered by it. And this latest development means that BT would soon have tough competition in the segment.

Incidentally, Virgin Media has also launched its superfast next generation fibre optic broadband network rollout in the UK, with a 50Mbps broadband package as its main attraction.

According to Carphone Warehouse’s chief executive officer, Charles Dunstone, TalkTalk was currently seriously pondering over the feasibility of rolling out a UK_wide fibre based broadband internet service. He added that nonetheless the broadband provider was also investigating the scopes of partnering with a rival internet service provider on such as scheme.
