According to reports TitanADSL, one of the internet service providers operating in the United Kingdom, is trying to better the quality of its broadband services. In the recent months the customers of the broadband provider were found having issues with slow broadband speed and other problems with their broadband service.

The broadband provider seems to have earnestly taken the issues, which is evident from their striking a new deal with the Vispa Internet, with a view to resolve any such issues within a month or so.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for TitanADSL said that by December and January all the Entanet customers would be transferred on to their own pipe , with the same pricing structures and products and their newly signed up customers would be subjected to fresh products and pricing structure that would be released soon.

Recently the broadband provider was found facing some technical problems with the phone system of their customer-support team.

It is also worth noting that some technical problems that had popped up earlier this month had forced the rival broadband provider UK Online to stop the signing up of fresh customers, even though for a short term. This problem was highlighted by the company to ComputerWorld UK through a statement.

A freshly carried out research on the nuances of broadband pricing and values has claimed that it has made the cost of various broadband UKinternet technologies ‘clearly defined’.

The research has been carried out by the survey body Point Topic that has revealed that the fibre optic broadband technology has emerged as the dearest choice in terms of total cost, although the remarkable speeds delivered by it meant that it offered high value for money.

The survey finds that DSL broadband services are the most expensive broadband internet options when weighed on a per Megabit basis, even though they tend to be the cheapest when weighed on a monthly basis.

Fiona Vanier, the spokesperson for the research agency opined that cable broadband technology, the last of the three major technologies, was caught in the middle. She substantiated the statement by the explanation that cable broadand providers could seldom offer the highest broadband speeds in the regions where fibre broadband was rolled out, and could not offer the cheapest prices in those areas served by the DSL technologies, therefore they forged a middle path.

The release of the research findings by the research agency Point Topic come at an interesting point of time, as it had only while back suggested that when it came to broadband penetration, the United Kingdom was home to a crucial south-north divide.

O2, one of the five prominent mobile broadband providers of the United Kingdom and arguably the biggest of them, at least for the time being has showcased a value for money mobile broadband dongle pay-as-you-go offer. The offer is significant for the reason that it is being provided for half the price, although for a limited term.

The new price offered by mobile broadband service provider, as of today for its pre-pay mobile broadband internet dongle is just GBP 14.67. The buyers of this offer connection are at the liberty to add usage on a monthly, weekly or daily basis. The connection speeds offered by this mobile broadband package is up to 3.6 Mbps.

The daily tariff fixed by the prominent mobile operator in the country for a usage of 500MB is GBP2, while the monthly and weekly options come with price tags of GBP 15 for 3GB usage and GBP 7.50 for 1GB, respectively. All the three mobile broadband packages provide the customers with an unlimited Wi-Fi use.

The mobile broadband dongle offered by O2 is compatible with PC and MAC. This is very much left to the buyers to check out, since it has been big news recently that many dongles failed to get along with the Snow Leopard OS of Apple. Meanwhile, the company also promises that if the customers were unhappy with the service, they were eligible for a full refund on a stipulated condition that the purchased product should be returned with in thirty days of purchase.

O2 had only recently confirmed its offering a home broadband package for free to all its Apple iPhone customers that sign up for its fresh deal highlighted by tethering add-ons. This move from the UK ISP apparently points to diverting their customers’ attention from colourful iPhone offers launched by new carrier Orange.

In one of the latest developments, a top Scottish police officer has urged the broadband internet subscribers in the country to make sure that their broadband connections were completely secure.

According to the claims of Keith McDevitt, a detective inspector at the Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency of Scotland, if the wireless broadband (Wi-Fi) networks in the United Kingdom were left without adequate protection, they would be sitting ducks for those people that aspire to make use of these.

McDevitt was found to be explaining to the newspaper Daily Record that it meant increasingly possible embroilment of people in problems related to activities of fraudulence, as such wireless broadband connections could be used by criminals to purchase items online using a filched credit card or download explicit content from the internet.

The Scottish detective inspector added that at least for a short span of time innocent people were likely to be criminal investigation suspects, as the police might arrive at their home armed with a warrant to examine, search and seize their personal computers; all for one main reason that the people failed in taking some simple measures to secure their Wi-Fi connection.

Recently, TalkTalk, one of the most popular internet service providers operating in the UK that specializes in cheap business broadband packages, had disclosed that around 7 million households in the country were vulnerable to the sort of WiFi wireless broadband hijacking.

The past week had witnessed the flocking of an increased number of online gamers around the Xbox Live service of Microsoft, according to reports from official sources.

The reports suggest that with a surge effectuated by more than a couple of million people that got connected to the Xbox Live service at a time earlier in the week, had helped the platform break its own user record. The reason for the surge has been nothing else than the recent release of the online game Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2.

It has been further reported that the recent history has seen no many games that had created the sort of anticipation triggered by the presently released one, as it seemed that players had organized events over the internet to challenge their pals on the newly released shooter.

Something that is expected to boost the popularity of Xbox Live service is the imminent introduction of platforms including Last.fm and Facebook over it. However, it has also been advised to make sure that the broadband internetconnections of the broadband internet customers that were not on gaming broadband contracts, are ready for the advanced gaming experience online.

Meanwhile, it is also refreshing news for the ardent gamers that various internet service providers including TalkTalk and Be Broadband offer special broadband gamer bundle packages. Of the two TalkTalk has gone a bit more ahead to launch its new highly potential Pro Broadband deal, which offers up to 24 Mbps broadband speeds to the subscribers.
