Orange, one of the five leading mobile broadband operators in the United Kingdom, has recently revealed its plans to boost its 3G mobile network. For this, the mobile broadband company is planning a significant promotional push.

The promotional campaign of Orange UK internet service provider that is believed to cost around GBP 4 million, would be designed is such a way that it raises across the next two months, awareness of the 3G mobile broadband technology.

It is expected by the mobile broadband suppliers that the promotions would directly appeal to the readers by highlighting the issue – how the network that extends across approximately ninety three per cent of the population of the United Kingdom would probably cover them.

According to Spencer McHugh, the brand director of Orange UK, the promotion campaign would be designed to have a fun and fresh appeal besides including numerous different advertisement versions. He added that they were proud of their mobile broadband network at Orange and they longed to remind the customers a great reason such as that to be on Orange.

It is also worth mentioning here that the broadband provider has also unveiled the fact that it was currently offering through its home broadband services, speeds of up to 20Mbps as standard. As a matter of fact, the news of the marketing promotion campaign launch plans of Orange follows the ISP’s speed upgrade news.

Reports say that the popular mobile broadband service provider of the United Kingdom, Orange has showcased a number of new broadband package options in the country. It has also been reported that along with the fresh broadband package options, the UK ISP is also offering a standard home broadband package of up to 20Mbps download speeds.

Orange, one of the prominent mobile broadband suppliers operating in the country had recently come into prime time news after announcing its merger plans with another mobile broadband operator, T-Mobile. It seems the Uk ISP has revamped its packages to offer this sort of a fast broadband connection to the customers.

According to reports, the home broadband packages will be accommodating the up to 20Mbps download speeds as standard. These packages, besides the enhanced download speeds, have also gone through alterations of their own.

A new broadband offering called Home Ultra is the new introduction of Orange. These broadband packages come highlighted by the inclusion of Livebox wireless routers of Orange that in their turn enable the customers to connect for up to six devices at a time. For the pay monthly customers of the ISP the packages come at a price of GBP 10.50 per month, which include anytime UK landline calls.

Another change brought about by Orange is on its original Home Max home broadband package that comes with a wireless router. This package will now come with inclusive weekend and evening UK landline calls. The package that comes at a price of GBP 6.50 after the free first three month offer period, will also include a monthly line rental fee of GBP 10.50.

Recent reports have been stating persistent lobbying of the UK government by Orange UK for a chunk of the 900MHz spectrum owned by O2 and Vodafone. In return Orange seems to have offering the government funds for their universal broadband plan’s realization. Orange expects that the gaining of some spectrum would help boost their mobile business.

It is also apparent that Orange also wants BT to not hike their wholesale prices. Reports say that the mobile operator has offered the government the provision of broadband engaging 93 percent fixed copper lines, topped up with mobile broadband for the remote areas where internet access cannot be realized through cables.

It is also worth pondering the words of Nicolas Ott, the vice president of strategy at Orange UK that has made it clear the importance of comprehensive or multiplay packages in the present broadband market of Britain. He had said that the customers were expected to spend their money on content if they were allowed to have it on PC, TV and a laptop.

Ott adds that the sharing of the 90MHz spectrum among all operators was not all that complex. Ott also confides that since they had the network size required for a large scale roll out, it can not only pay for the spectrum, but also can open it up to those UK ISP who did not enjoy a competitive network size.

Meanwhile, the present condition that has evolved lately is certain to pain the aspirant ISP. One can come to this conclusion reckoning the words of Steve Blythe, Orange UK’s head of spectrum strategy, which reveals the optimism of the ISP. He had stated that his companied believed that the suggestion of Ofcom to free up 15 percent of the total spectrum in dispute was not adequate, as the most welcome decision would be an equal splitting of it among the operators.
