TalkTalk, a subsidiary of the newly emerged communications giant in the UK – Carphone Warehouse, is a cheap broadband supplier operating in the UK. Recently, with the acquisition of the Tiscali UK’s assets it had elevated itself to the status of the second largest broadband provider in the country. Earlier it had acquired AOL Broadband as well.

Meanwhile, their TalkTalk broadband service was kept unmerged with any of the other entities acquired by them, and has been developing as a reliable broadband provider that offered cheap user-friendly broadband services. The TalkTalk has once again come into the limelight by introducing a new service that reduced the expenditure for the home movers on setting up a broadband connection.

TalkTalk Home Mover, as the new service is widely known, slashes the establishment cost of a broadband connection for the fresh customers into half at GBP59.99. This is virtually an interesting move considering that the rate for the same service of BT is GBP120. Moreover, TalkTalk has also introduced more goodies for its existing consumers in the new service such as a lower price of GBP29.99 exclusively for the existing subscribers of the ISP.

According to TalkTalk, this service was expected to make convenient the moving process, as previously the consumers moving house to an area pertaining to a non-optic fibre network, had to sign up to BT firstly, before switching to any other ISP. TalKTalk also believed that there was widespread discontent amongst the moving consumers for being forced to sign up for a one-year broadband contract with BT.Find broadband comparison deals, offers and checkout exclusive broadband availability checker.

Wireless network gives the opportunity to access Internet from any place (obviously you have to be inside a certain radius of the connection point). You can roam around in your house, lawn, and garden and do your work. To be wireless with a broadband Internet connection, you will need a router. A router is available in the market so you can buy it and configure it yourself for the use or you can contact your Internet service provider to go wireless.

The main benefit of being wireless broadband is the freedom from all the cables. You can roam around in your house, set up your work in any room you want. For doing this you don’t have to see ugly cables running everywhere. You will get the same speed of the wired broadband Internet connection.

A little argument rose on the fact that wireless Internet signals are safe or not. There is no specific scientific data is supporting the fact that the signals are harmful and most scientists say that wireless internet signals are perfectly safe. A small disadvantage is the connection can go a bit weaker for switching to wireless but the difference is so little you won’t notice it. To know the difference you have to do a speed test.

There are also limitations you have to know about wireless Internet. The fact that lots of people can connect to wireless network at the same time using the same connection. This could be considered as disadvantageous as well advantageous, because you have to protect your connection from unwanted users. To protect your connection, you can use passwords and encryption keys. If you don’t do so people in your street will be able to connect to Internet using your broadband.

The speed is affected on the number of people using the connection and the types of work they are doing on the Internet. It also depends on the number of people you share your connection with. The distance of the PC from the router also affects wireless Internet speed. If the signal has to get through walls then it will get weaker. To meet this problem of weaker signals you can just buy an aerial with greater reach. Replacing the old standard aerial with new aerial with greater power will increase your signal strength.

If you have wireless Internet connection you have to be careful about the security. The security isn’t a problem, but a great number of people from home and workplaces simply overlook the fact. They just forget to make necessary arrangements to secure their Internet connection. If you don’t secure your connection then people hacking and using your connection will not only use your internet connection and slow down your speed but also you will face greater disadvantages as they can find out all your personal data, financial records, credit card numbers and the web pages you are viewing. To prevent this encrypting data is done. You can also use access control. This works as the router has a list of physical addresses of computers and the listed computers are allowed to use the network. By taking security measures you can use your wireless Internet connection risk free and of course cable free.

There has been a plenty of wireless broadband service provider in UK which are sufficiently good in their services. These organizations offer their consumers offers that are exceptional and different from each others’ product. Since there is a large range of competitors it gets tough for the users to make a choice. To help the consumers to find a way out of confusion here we have discussed about some of the broadband service providers that are currently operating in UK and has gained popularity. After reading this review consumers might be helped to make a decision.

AOL Broadband: AOL not only in UK may be the most famous broadband supplier in the world. AOL has packages that range from 1-8Mbps. There are three reasons why you should choose AOL- high speed, a reasonable price compared to the service and unique set of products and contents through their portal.

Bulldog Broadband: A favorite of the UK Broadband consumers, Bulldog is best known for its lightening speed. It is a branch of the Pipex Group of Companies. This popular service provider has secured a spot among the fastest UK broadband service providers with high speed offer of package ranging up to 16Mbps.

BT Broadband: BT broadband is another favorite among the UK resident. It has started to gain popularity and acceptability inside the country as soon as it entered the local market. It offers wireless broadband with speed up to 8Mbps in cheap price. That’s why BT does not have a reason to stay back in the race of broadband providers.

Pipex Broadband: Pipex broadband is among the cheapest service providers among the companies working in United Kingdom. Pipex offers to people some of the finest facilities in fewer prices than the other service providers. For example: Pipex provides 8Mbps service in half a price that other top rated companies offer. No wonder Pipex has million of consumers in UK.

Homechoice: Homechoice is among the very few broadband suppliers in UK that provides a broadband package including telephone services and TV. It provides comprehensive services like movie on demand for its users. The full range of fun it has to offer has turned many users towards Homechoice.

Virgin Broadband: Virgin Broadband is one of the most popular and admired broadband suppliers in the land. To be sure you can check the list of Metrix Lab Awards. There you will find that Virgin Broadband is the winner of the award of “UK’s most popular portal” in 2006. It has a wide range of products which contains variations. Vodafone is known as the one of the few broadband service providers in UK which does not demand any sign- up for 12 or 18 months customer contract.

Talktalk Broadband: If you want to talk about cheap broadband, talk about Talktalk. This is one of those rare companies that provide broadband for free while selling other services of them. The service is also rather good as it also provides the opportunity to be connected with Talk3 landline call plan. Customers can also make overseas call by phone or PC paying a few extra pounds.

More useful information avialble on how to compare broadband providers.
