Eutelsat, the popular communications company has announced that it would extend its Tooway satellite broadband structure for the national broadband scheme of Ireland to capitalise on with a view to enhance internet broadband connectivity in the country.

This development would see that Satellite Broadband Ireland, a subsidiary broadband providing company would deliver the internet service to up to 5 per cent of the 223,000 targeted buildings. It is also understood that these plans are drawn with a main view to improve internet broadband access across the rural regions of Ireland.

As a matter of fact, satellite broadband internet service will be rendered to those customers that qualify for the connections. The satellite broadband connections of Tooway would offer internet data download speeds of about 3.6Mbps for a price of GBP 17.87 per month.

According to Eutelsat’s multimedia director, Arduino Patacchini, the option of Tooway and Satellite broadband Ireland, their partner, to rollout broadband services to most rural businesses and homes in Ireland highlighted the vital rle actively played by satellites in the setting up of a digital inclusion justified environment across the continent of Europe.

Eutelsat is one satellite broadband company that offers access to the bodies of its satellite broadband segment based in more than one hundred fifty countries. The company is based in Paris.

Eutelsat Communications, one of the leading satellite solution providers in the world has expressed its confidence in the UK government’s theory that universal service commitment can be materialised by using the presently existing satellite broadband technology.

The Digital Britain report published last day assured to extend at least a 2Mbpts broadband service to each household in the country by the year 2012. A brief plan also has been outlined for an investment fund that assures all households in the country a reasonably fast service.

The UK government’s initiative to establish an inclusive digital society has been welcomed by the Eutelsat company, besides extending its request for further discussions on delivering service quickly to the 10 percent of the country that have been denied internet access until the present times. The multimedia director of Eutelsat, Arduino Patacchini said that 10 per cent of the country’s population was without broadband connection. He added that it can be realised without wasting much time. He also said that a new satellite infrastructure has been already invested upon, which would be available from 2010, marked by the speeds of up to 10Mbps.

Toowaywas launched by Eutelsat with 2Mbps satellite broadband service in the country in April at a proposed payment fee of 29.99 pounds per month. From the start of next month Eutelsat is planning to boost the speeds up to 3.6Mbps at no additional price. The company is confident that its satellite technology could help the government to reach its goal by extending the basic broadband service, irrelevant to the remoteness of their abodes as well as not resorting to costly fibre or copper cabling.

Eutelsat’s satellite enabled service is also based on not only the commercial expertise, but also the infrastructure functional abilities of Skylogic, a subsidiary of the satellite company. It’s service will also complimented by the Surfbeam technology researched and developed by Viasat the boasts of a user-base of 400,000 heads in the US alone, apart from operating in as good as twenty European countries.

The Tooway has the ability to carry out voice through satellite telephony services and also supports IPTV services. The company is planning to increase its broadband service speed to 10Mbps from next year by launching a satellite that is specifically planned for broadband service in Europe. However, the company has not mentioned anything about a hike in the charges for the faster service.
