T-Mobile Places Its HotSpot Services on Virgin Trains

Take it as T-Mobile’s reply to BT starting its mobile broadband account or the same internet service provider rolling out Wi-Fi hot spots across more than six hundred outlets of Starbucks coffee shop chain. Whatsoever, T-Mobile has clubbed with Virgin Trains to roll out high speed broadband via hot spot service in Pendalino Virgin trains. T-Mobile claims that their new venture would offer the travelers nothing less than seamless internet connectivity on the go.

What T-Mobile is stressing here is the ability of the network to deliver super fast internet connectivity across the West Coast line including even the tunnel sections. It has declared that the fifty two trains will be subjected for an initial roll out of the Wi-Fi service. Other railway services where T-Mobile has made its mark with Wi-Fi hot spots are; Southern track London to Brighton and Heathrow express services.

Nonetheless, this integrated Wi-Fi service does not come for granted. In fact, it does come with a not so cheap price tag. The HotSpot passes can be bought by all the passengers other than the first class passengers, online by means of their Wi-Fi enabled laptops or smartphones. As for the first class passengers, they are the privileged ones to be provided the service free of cost.

A twenty four hour pass can be bought by the passengers for GBP 10, apart from the regular GBP 5 per hour passes. Other than the first class passengers, another group of privileged people who are provided free Wi-Fi access is the pay monthly customers of T-Mobile’s Mobile Broadband, who have already gained the unlimited access to HotSpots through their broadband plans.
