Sky Calls on Fellow ISPs for Collaboration against Piracy
Sky the popular broadband service provider operating in the United Kingdom, has called on its fellow (rival) uk broadband suppliers to lend support to the government as well as the copyright holders to develop ways to apprehend online piracy.
The internet service provider has put up a claim to the Department of Business, Science and Innovation that all the groups had a significant role to play in arresting the consumers from downloading video and music online, illegally. Sky had claimed this to the business department through a submission.
It is also significant in the circumstances that had stated that not only a comprehensive collaboration among the ISPs, but also a broad ranging legislation to tackle the problem effectively.
In its report, Sky has also stated that it only looked forward to an even playing field applied throughout the industry, with no copyright firm or internet service provider was able to run away from its responsibilities.
The broadband supplier commented further that they additionally wanted to see the responsibility for identifying the websites that must be blocked by the ISPs, to be taken by the government of the country itself.
