Sky broadband named the best ISP
Point Topic and the broadband comparison site, Broadbandchoices have announced the results of their half yearly broadband satisfaction survey that has monitored the broadband services offered by seven broadband providers in the UK. Since the survey has considered only the top seven providers on the basis of customer base, the major high-speed broadband provider, Be/O2 could not make it despite their reputation as the fastest and the most reliable ISP in the UK.
The results are based on the criteria like general service quality, stability of connection, download speed, customer service & support, value for money, the billing method and activation period. According to the report, Sky broadband out-performed other providers in most of these areas and was named the best broadband provider followed by TalkTalk, Virgin Media, Tiscali, BT Total broadband, Orange ISP, and AOL broadband internet provider.
As for the good value for money, Sky again finds first place for offering reliable broadband packages with other services like satellite TV etc. TalkTalk and Tiscali broadband have been placed in second and third place respectively. However, AOL and BT did not fare well in this area as they could find the last places in the table.
Mean while, Sky broadband has made some changes in their broadband packages. Sky Max, which has so far been restricted by the UK ISP Fair Usage Policy will no longer have this limit, according to the report from Sky User. This broadband package comes with 16Mbps download speed and unlimited download and will cost £10 per month for the Sky TV customers.
However, Sky is set to introduce traffic shaping to its Sky Connect package which offers 40GB monthly usage allowance. Sky Connect requires BT lines and will cost £17 for Sky TV customers.
