Sky broadband doubles its customer base
The broadband customer base of Sky broadband services has crossed half-a-million mark as of 31, March 2007. The Q3 results from Sky indicate that the number of sky broadband customers increased by more than 50 percent during the third quarter. It should be noted that Sky launched its broadband services just eight months ago and its broadband wing had a customer base of 74,000 by the end of October last year.
Among the on-net users which constitute more than three-fourths of the sky broadband customers, more than two-thirds of them chose bundled package services which has been witnessing a steady growth in recent times. With Easynet adding about 32,000 customers, the total number of sky broadband users has touched 585,000.By the end of April, the number of unbundled exchanges rose to 974, nearly 5 % increase from March. Sky also targets a penetration of 70 % of UK households with its LLU services by the end of June, 2007. Presently, Sky broadband offers bundle of services to 61% of
