Sky broadband adds 260,000 new customers in last quarter

According to the annual results released by BSkyB for the year 2007, there are over 1.19 million Sky broadband customers thanks to the addition of 260,000 new connections during the last quarter.

Net customers of Sky grew by 167,000 to 8.3 million while ARPU was seen at £421 growing at an annual rate of 7 percent. The product sales rose by 35 percent

Apart from Sky broadband, Sky’s other divisions like Sky Talk also witnessed robust growth during the last quarter. Sky Talk has added over 236,000 customers by the end of December, 2007.

Jeremy Darroch, CEO of BSkyB said:
“We have made good progress during the quarter. Our focus on value and quality has delivered a strong level of new customer additions, a 35% year on year increase in product sales, record ARPU, and lower churn. Our business continues to strengthen.”

“We enter calendar year 2008 in good shape. A combination of outstanding choice, quality and value leadership leaves us well positioned. An 8% increase in our interim dividend reflects our confidence.”
