Sky and Virgin Media Battle to Win Over Subscribers

It has been reported by a pro-broadband website catering for the people in the United Kingdom that the popular internet service providers operating in the country, Sky and Virgin Media were busy stepping up their rivalry by putting forward reasons to switch each others services, as campaigns.
As a matter of fact, both the UK broadband providers, according to the website were going head-to-head in popularising their reasons to switch campaigns. This says that the broadband providers were sparring to win over the customers of their rivals by engaging direct and press mail campaigns.
Meanwhile, many already doubt if the extreme tactics adapted by the media companies have started triggering the disgust of the consumers. The above mentioned campaigns obviously seem to be crossing the healthy limits. Something worth mentioning here at this point is the fact that both the players were not just broadband providers, but strong providers of broadband, phone and digital TV bundle packages as well.
A tagline that has been used by Sky to promote its services read, eleven reasons to say good bye to BT and Virgin Media (say hello to Sky). On the other hand, Virgin Media, the leading cable broadband provider in the country, has launched a counter campaign stating – Take the pick by heeding to the reasons to sign up for Virgin media.
Sky claims that the people joining its services could save up to GBP 200 per year by way of monthly subscriptions once they switched contracts from the services of its rival. The reasons to switch as listed by Sky are HD, TV packages, cheap calls and free broadband. Menwhile, Virgin puts forward the claim that the call-out prices and HD channels of Sky costed more than the same services of it.
