Satellite Internet Upload Speed

Satellite Internet is undoubtedly one of the broadband internet access services that is pondered over by the broadband consuming public and the government of the United Kingdom alike, as a viable alternative for the terrestrial broadband internet networks in serving the remote and rural areas in the country.

These areas that are hardly covered by fixed-line broadband or mobile broadband networks on technical and economy-related grounds are conveniently called broadband notspots. It is worth musing over against this backdrop that the government of the country has revealed its intentions to rollout a country-wide broadband network; monickered the Universal Broadband rollout.

If the universal broadband rollout envisaged by the previous government, had in minds a broadband internet access speed of 2Mbps, the present coalition government seems to have something better in their minds.

However, the satellite broadband technology has today advanced considerably to enable its providers to offer fast download speeds of even up to 10Mbps. These providers that place this 10Mbps broadband speeds under the title of premium package, also offer an upload speed of around 2Mbps as part of the same package.

The only disadvantage a commoner broadband consumer of the country would come across with the satellite broadband packages is the exorbitant prices tagged on them. These prices include a very high installation charge as well.

However, overlooking the heavy initial charges related to installation and hardware such as dish and transmitter, the customer that has upload speeds as the priority requirement has a number of options – including budget ones – that start from 256Kbps.
