Samsung SMT-W6100 Wi-Fi Phone

Samsung's latest addition to UK Broadband is the SMT-W6100 wireless fidelity phone. This device enables customers to make and receive calls through their VoIP subscription over their existing wireless networks. Now, using cordless phones over the Voice over IP technology becomes a possible.

Samsung SMT-W6100 works on the more popular 802.11b and 802.11g wireless standards to ensure optimum functionality. Aside from that, it also supports multiple calling features that a regular telephone usually comes with. Both residential and businesses users could experience freedom from telephone cords, which is one major problem that grips VoIP telephone plans. Now, Samsung SMT-W6100 provides the timely solution for that.

The features supported by this VoIP wireless phone includes voice mail, caller ID, call forwarding, call waiting, speed dial, anonymous call blocking, and automatic callback, among others. It can also be programmed to activate the reach me and do no disturb features. The device also has a phonebook memory that can hold as much as 500 entries.

But there's more to this phone than just making calls. It also has a built-in Internet radio from which you can listen your favorite live audio streams over the Internet. Plus, it is equipped with a WAP 2.0 browser, which allows you to access WAP compatible sites. The handset can also be used on public hotspots and can access both free and pay-per-surf hotspots.

The phone measures 162 x 140 x 78 mm and is approximately 108 grams. It is powered by a single 1000 mA Li-Ion battery, which when fully charged can provide 4 hours talk time and 40 hours standby time. It comes with a power supply and a charge cradle that can run on a 110 to 240 volts A/C input. The wireless phone supports English, Spanish, French, German, and Italian languages and security protocols such as WEP, WPA, and WPA2.
