Residents of Cardigan Hit by Slowest UK Broadband Speeds?
The residents and businesses of the west Wales town Cardigan have complained of their suffering with some of the most sluggish broadband internet access speeds in the United Kingdom.
Beset with some of the slowest access speeds, the residents and businesses of the locality have launched a fresh campaign to have Cardigan equipped with enhanced broadband internet access. This has been reported by the Tivy-side Advertiser.
The lament of the CCC (Cardigan Chamber of Commerce) that the local businesses were suffering besides having been left in a disadvantageous position to compete with rivals located in other towns, for the sluggishness in broadband speeds delivered to them currently, is also worth mentioning here.
Meanwhile, something that gives hope to the Cardigan residents is the BT plan to upgrade the local exchanges in Haverfordwest, Aberystwyth and Carmanthen in the coming twelve months. The residents of Cardigan hope that they would also be included in the list after the proposed upgrades.
According to the local MP for Cardigan, Mark Williams, it was totally unfair that Cardigan town was overlooked by the authorities for broadband enhancement. He added that he have written to BT demanding an immediate upgrade in the exchange of Cardigan, since the neglect was totally unacceptable.
He concluded saying that it was a great necessity for their local businesses to have all the opportunity to survive in the tough economic conditions that already prevailed.
