Broadband Upgrades Affected by Recession

Wall StreetA research carried out by Broadband Choices revealed that the broadband consumers in the UK are becoming more and more reluctant towards upgrading their broadband services, specifically owing to the present economic climate. The study also revealed that two out of three web users in the UK were prone to refuse any extra payment for a high speed broadband connection.

A spokesman of the company was also seen attributing the figures to the present uncertainty shrouding the broadband speeds that in the circumstances stay a long way behind the superfast mark. According to him, broadband consumers of the country were certainly quite aware of their monthly expenditure in the present economic conditions, as well as the need to cut down the unwanted expenditure.

The spokesman of the research firm also attributed the reluctance on the part of the average broadband customer of Britain towards paying more for a faster service, to the recent statistics published by Ofcom that clearly stated that the average broadband user in the UK enjoyed only below 50 percent of the headline speeds advertised.
