RCA Digital Cable Modem is a single DCM245R modem which has the ability to support up to 32 computers through the 10Base-T or 100Base-T Ethernet connection. Ethernet is a cable which helps to connect the devices in a single building. Ethernet is very reliable than other ports and it reaches long distance. Ethernet costs less compared to other connectivity methods. The new RCA cable modem supports two way cable transmission which rates up to 38 Mbps for downstream and 10 Mbps for upstream. Data can be transferred quickly from one system to other.

RCA Digital Cable Modem offers always on and "ready-when-you-are" unlimited Internet access to on-line multimedia services. It supports BPI communications privacy support for securing data exchange between a modem and cable operator services. This new modem is Cablelabs certified which is based on the DOCSIS 1.1 standards. This modem requires PC and Mac systems with Pentium processor equivalent or better than that and Mac 601 or higher.
