Plusnet is to fish in troubled waters
When the Tiscali-Pipex deal is still underway, Plusnet, a subsidiary of BT broadband has planned to fish in troubled waters by giving a special offer to Pipex customers who wish to switch to their services after this development. Plusnet has announced this offer will be open for limited time although there was no deadline announced so far.
As per the special offer of Plusnet, the new customers will get one month free broadband and telephony. In addition, they will also come under Plusnet’s three month money-back scheme once they are migrated to Plusnet services.
This development will definitely put many Pipex customers in a dilemma whether to switch or remain with Tiscali after Tiscali’s takeover. What we learn from the comment made by Neil Armstrong of Plusnet is that the acquisition may not receive overwhelming positive reactions from Pipex customers.
On the one hand, Plusnet, after its takeover by BT broadband, is cutting a niche for itself as one of the most reliable home broadband providers. On the other hand, Tiscali, which is ranked behind Pipex in terms of broadband customer base is facing a lot of competition from other broadband providers. How many Pipex customers will respond to Plusnet’s offer is yet to be seen in the coming days.
