Plusnet advert banned by ASA for misleading offer content

Outdated series of adverts and irrelevant content related to the latest Yorkshire themed TV advert has created problem for Plusnet this time. The offer put up was on half price broadband. Complaints were raised by few customers noticing that the advert ran out in the month of February 2013 and also that the discount that was announced was in contrary to the promotional wording used following which ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) banned this advert and asked Plusnet to make sure if the promotion was available.

One of the complaints highlighted by customers points that although the advert mentioned that the offer was not available to all which in fact was denied by Plusnet stating that the offer was available to existing customers as well. Another complaint questioned if customers need to purchase calls and broadband with line rental in order to avail this offer.

Customers are forced to get line rental for the best broadband deal as this is one of the major revenue generating factors. Also, customers who are able to pay line rental in advance get an opportunity to save every month but need to contact their providers about the best line rental deal.
