Pipex share-holders approve Pipex-Tiscali deal

Pipex, a UK broadband provider of both stand-alone broadband packages and bundled services formally announced that its shareholders have given their consent for the sale out of the company's broadband division to Tiscali, which agreed for such a deal a few days ago.

Tiscali, an Italian based UK broadband supplier acquired broadband division of Pipex in an effort to increase its broadband penetration as well as to use the platform provided by Pipex to extend its variety services to many more geographical places in the UK. Pipex, the fifth largest ISP in UK in terms of broadband customers, offers internet services that include broadband, voice, web hosting and network services for businesses in UK. As the cheap broadband packages of Pipex needs a huge amount of investment in terms of advertisement, Pipex decided to switch its focus on its business divisions which it sees having better potential growth opportunities.

However, the WiMAX which was launched by Pipex and other services of Pipex may also be acquired by other companies, as the company is in search of potential buyers of these services.
