Chrome Goes ahead of IE for a Day

As per the news received from StatCounter, Google Chrome surpassed Internet Explorer as the leading browser during the weekend.

StatCounter informed that Chrome, Google’s web browser overtook Internet Explorer and became the top browser for that weekend only.

Information from the analytic firm StatCounter revealed that Google’s Chrome took over 32.7 percent of the share of the market on Sunday beating Internet Explorer’s 32.5 percent. This was a landmark recording that was first noted by Tom’s Hardware.

The very next day, Internet explorer went right back to being in the lead with 35.3 percent share, while Chrome only took a 30.3 percent of the market share. This only went on to show that while Microsoft’s web browser IE was used more during the course of the week, Google’s web browser was utilized more during the weekends, and that IE beat its competitor by a margin of five percentage points.

As per StatCounter, Chrome overtook Firefox in the month of December the previous year.

The point was that the statistics of StatCounter and those of their rival Net Application did not synchronise and as per Net Application, Internet Explorer was still ahead with 55 percent, with Firefox holding the second place with 21 percent and Chrome standing third with 19 percent.

The Statcounter availed of its information through tracking web traffic and the major part of its hits was from US websites. The analytic firm did not consider data country-wise to do away with prejudice, which was what Net Application does.

Google to revive their Search Engine

Google that is the predominant search engine of the present day have plans to develop it further with what is known as “semantic search” technology.
