January 12, 2008OTA update reports faster growth in LLU linesAccording to the OTA update for December, 2007, more than 3.748 million BT lines have been unbundled by various LLU operators in UK. Along with LLU lines, currently, UK has 4.53 million WLR lines and 5.89 million telephone numbers using CPS Noting significant improvements in the features and functionality of the network due to the commendable work by BT Openreach and CPs and expressing satisfaction over the introduction of new processes into the LLU products, OTA also announced that it will be making a review on the Governance Framework which many CPs were quite expecting recently. It should be noted that OTA reported its disappointment over the progress of WL3 products last month. However, OTA is yet to receive the response from Openreach to the query regarding their new development roadmap which Openreach is supposed to implement in near future. Earlier, Ofcom issued its review on LLU scenario in UK and a consultation document was published last month and the deadline for receiving the responses from broadband industry has been announced as 25th of this month. OTA update for December, 2007 also reports a gradual improvement in the headline Migrations KPI. The number of tag related calls received by BT Wholesale Tags help desk shows steady decline thanks to the improvements initiated by many ISPs. The Ofcom Call Centre KPI also reported that there is a marginal reduction in number of tag or Mac related calls from broadband customers. As Openreach is planning to introduce many EMP developments along with the current CP-specific improvements in near future, it is expected that the number of migration related problems will further dwindle. | ||
