OTA releases its April Report
Local Loop Unbundling (LLU), Backhaul Extension Service and Wholesale Extension Backhaul are some of the in-scope products that will remain top priorities for OTA2 scheme, says Mr. Peter Black, the Executive Chairman of Office of Telecommunications Adjudicator (OTA). OTA2 has become operational and is the platform for OTA to address and resolve the issues involving these products.
According to his report, the LLU lines in the UK has crossed 2 million mark at the end of April, while Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) and CPS-enabled telephones lines have touched 4.2 million and 6.2 million respectively. OTA has added one more Director in its board this April - Mark Dalziel, who will be responsible for NGN UK projects.While Peter Black expressed his satisfaction over the backhaul delivery, he said the bulk and mass migrations ‘is progressing well’ although the bank holiday season had taken toll on the volumes.Despite having achieved the mile stone of 2 million unbundled lines, OTA2 has to resolve many problems cropping up in LLU services like:
- Migrations Processes & Industry-wide adoption
- Quality Improvements in fully unubundled lines (MPF)
- EMP Quality and Stability of surrounding support processes
- Migrations Processes
