UK ISP veteran Pipex is soon going to be taken over by any one of the other competitor setting its eyes to corner the company.

In 1991, UK's first commercial internet service provider, Pipex came into picture and appointed an investment bank to facilitate them through the sales options. Other current major ISP's today like BT, Orange, Tiscali, Carphone Warehouse, BskyB have even considered once to venture with Pipex to improve there financial condition.

Pipex broadband has been undergoing acquisitions and consolidation with other major ISP's, all of them having a successful broadband service which could give them good amount of Pipex's customers. Carphone Warehouse had good amount of additional infrastructure which could give them an advantage in handling extra load of more customers.

Pipex is rated as the sixth largest UK broadband service provider with almost around 570000 broadband internet customers and had faced major crisis since the national ad campaign was run by David Hasselhoff last year resulted into bad to worst service ratings.
