O2 broadband to extend its wi-fi network for iphone users

O2 broadband provider is all set to provide its mobile wireless data service to iPhone users, according to a report. This will allow the iPhone users (O2 customers) to access BT Openzone Wi-fi hotpspots without any additional cost.

The new service will also enable the users of Apple's iPhone 3G to access the wifi hotspots and the service will be launched in the UK, in the second week of July, 2008

It should be noted that O2 has been offering its Wi-fi in association with the Cloud. With more than 3000 BT Openzone Hotspots added to the new service of O2, the iPhone users will get access to more than 9000 wi-fi hotspots.

According to the report, the users of iPhone and the new iPhone 3G can opt the best wi-fi network using either BT Openzone or the Cloud hotspots. By accessing the hotspots with the fastest connection speeds, the users can do all kinds of internet activities much faster and easily.

The O2 customers who have iPhone can access the network of wi-fi hotspots. There will not be any download limit, however, the customers will be subjected to Fair usage Policy of the ISP.
