New Mobile Broadband technologies to take over in next two years

The study conducted by research firm YouGov shows that the advanced mobile broadband technologies like 3G or 4G are set to take the place of other traditional broadband technologies such as ADSL or cable in the next two years. According to the report, ten percent of the population use mobile broadband which hit the market a year ago.

This means that mobile broadband services which use NGA (Next Generation Access) fibre optic technology will become challenging rivals to the ISPs who deliver broadband via historical telephone lines or cable network.

However, the next generation mobile broadband services like WiMAX or LTE are still in their infancy although they have been far successful in delivering high speed connections to their customers. One of the major disadvantages of Mobile broadband technology is that their customers do not get larger download limits and other broadband extras like free emails with these packages. Typically, mobile broadband service is often affected by the factors like blocking of signals by solid structures etc. If mobile broadband is to become a true alternative to the traditional broadband services, it has to solve this problem. So, it seems that mobile broadband can be used along with ADSL or cable broadband technology before it overtakes these popular broadband services in near future.
