Mobile broadband saw stronger growth during the last year

The latest report from the GSM Association (GSMA) shows that HSPSA based mobile broadband connections worldwide has reached 50 million. This indicates that mobile broadband subscriptions have grown by nearly five hundred percent during the last twelve months. According to the report, there were just 11 million mobile broadband connections a year ago.

The GSMA is a trade association of GSM mobile phone service providers worldwide. Rob Conway, the CEO of the GSMA has commented:

“These figures highlight the global success of mobile broadband and the fact that we are continuing to see greater and greater economies of scale,”

It should be noted that the UK mobile broadband providers like Vodafone, 3 Mobile and T-Mobile offer a wide range of  broadband mobile packages with downstream speeds up to 7.2 Mbps. While the speeds have improved significantly during the last one year, it was found that most users are likely to get broadband speeds ranging between 1Mbps and 5Mbps through the HSPSA mobile networks, according to the survey.Checkout exclusive broadband offers and also find latest broadband directory & broadband bundles.

Rob Conway has further said:

“This is driving down the cost of devices and equipment and enabling more and more users across the world to enjoy easy access to media-rich services anywhere at anytime,”

Currently, Vodafone offers the maximum speeds of 7.2Mbps to their mobile broadband customers while Three mobile broadband provider offers some of the cheapest mobile broadband deals with monthly prices starting from £10.
