Mobile Broadband Advancing in the UK
The figures cited this week by Mobile Today claims that the mobile broadband sales are nearing 20,000 per week. They also feel that the figures will rise if the current vogue carries on.
The report released by the Digital Britain by the minister for communication, broadcasting and technology in the UK, focuses on the future of the country’s communications sector, and mobile broadband very much looks part of that. The research carried out by Gfk company claims that in spite of frequent economic mood swings, the sales of the mobile broadband dongles have gone up from 27,000 in October last year to 58,000 in January 09. This exponential growth could be witnessed across the mobile broadband networks of the country.
Mobile broadband keeps business clients connected to their work even when they are traveling. Since around last year the prospects have been shifted and presently, fixed online service is counted as an average. The advent of high-end consumer appliances like the iPhone has brought the mobile internet into public awareness. Some areas in the country lacking fixed line broadband connections have also played a major part in the boost of mobile broadband market.
Apart from this, the mobile broadband providers are powerfully pushing the product through enticing advertisements, attractive price offers and eye catching freebies. Moreover, any considerable reduction in the prices will also help the cause greatly in the future. This is all the more significant as a price slash is expected round the corner in that will be called forth mainly with a view to tackle the upcoming challenge from satellite broadband.
