December 14, 2007Mac & Linux users to get iPlayer service on Flash PlayerWhile BBC’s iPlayer is to end its current beta version and to be launched as a full version on-demand TV channel on Christmas Day, BBC has made another thing, this time, to make the Mac and Linux users happy who were hitherto denied of the most popular IPTV service in the UK. According to the report, the iPlayer which was not available for non-windows users like Mac and Linux OS users, will now can be viewed in a video streaming mode using Flash Player. BBC has already announced that iPlayer will be launched for non-windows OS users in 2008. Howerver, these users can enjoy iPlayer service until the full version of the service is launched. BBC has also revealed its plans to extend iPlayer service outside the UK next year. BBC’s iPlayer is a Peer-to-Peer based service that allows the subscribers to download the TV series of BBC and other BBC programmes of the last seven days. There are various categories like drama, music, news & weather and children’s where you can pick up your programmme of the last seven days and download into your PC. You can also enjoy listening to a wide range of radio stations like World service, BBC 7, 6 Music Player etc. However, like the videos, you can listen music or speech up to seven days after broadcast.
