Leading ISPs Push BT to boost its Fibre Broadband Plans
It has been reported that a couple of leading internet service providers operating in the United Kingdom have pressed the prominent fixed line broadband provider in the country; BT, to effect a series of enhancments on its proposed fresh fibre optic next generation broadband network.
The two rival broadband providers that urged BT to amend its fibre optic broadband launch plans, happen to be Carphone Warehouse and Sky. Of the two, Carphone Warehouse is none other than the mobile phone giant of the UK that also owns TalkTalk, AOL and Tiscali today.
As a matter of fact, TalkTalk and Sky have put forth their claim that the wholesale broadband service that was availed through the network pathetically lacked the flexibility required by them to sell their broadband products to the customers.
Meanwhile, the popular daily Financial Times has reported that both the broadband service providing companies wanted to make sure that they could differentiate their own broadband offerings considerably from their rivals’ offerings.
According to ht estrategy dputy head of Sky, Dougal Scott, the broadband provider was eagerly looking ahead for an opportunity to work with BT on the problem. He added that it was crucial that future broadband products were quite enticing to the potential wholesale partners if BT was looking ahead for a return on its investment.
