Kent Village in the VFast WiMAX Network

WiMAX TechnologyA small village in the county of Kent, Barham with its population estimated 1100 people seems all set to jump the queue regarding broadband internet speeds as VFast has chosen the area for its fixed wireless solution based on WiMAX technology.

As a matter of fact, the village of Barham has its nearest exchange located in Bridge that is about five kilometres from the village. This means that the connection speeds enjoyed by the villagers are nothing unsimilar to that enjoyed by most across the country; ADSL speeds of up to 1 or 2Mbps. The exchange’s size also ensures that no cheap unbundled broadband services are available.

Meanwhile, the WiMAX service floated by VFast requires the villagers to fit a miniature antenna to the outside of their property but pointing towards the network node of VFast offering the optimum signal. Beside, the WiMAX service offered by VFast also help the consumers in the village overcome a good number of issues existing with the lengthy phone lines.

Barham was provided with WiMAX wireless access as part of the policy of Kent County Council to address broadband internet notspots. VFast has launched a range of packages as well. VLite package is all about a basic package meant for web surfing with a download speed of 2Mbps. It also offers a monthly data of 15GB for GBP 17.99.

VHome is one package that offers unlimited broadband at a speed of 10Mbps for downloading. The package also packs 2Mbps upload speeds for a price of GBP 24.99. It is also expected that VMax package would in the near future upgrade to a 50Mbps service package for GBP 36.99.
