KCOM’s next target streets in Hull for Lightstream roll out

One of the ISPs, KCOM has recently informed about the next streets that are going to get benefited from their current rollout of Gigabit capable ultrafast FTTP “Lightstream” broadband network in this summer. Under this project, the service provider will cover more than 10000 homes and business premises in Hull and East Yorkshire by August end.

As of now, the ISP has completed their expansion with their Lightstream to reach 164,000+ premises in the Hull and East Riding area with the subscribers of 67,000 including 3500 businesses. Most of their services are rendered with FTTP lines with a download speed of upto 400 Mbps to homes and 1 Gbps to businesses. As announced by KCOM earlier in this year that they are working towards the extension of their Lightstream FTTP network to reach 100% in their network area by the month of March 2019 which will be around more than 200,000 properties & costing around £85m. Upon completion of their target, their network will have 96% coverage with full fibre – FTTP and balance 4% with the FTTC (VDSL2) of 75 Mbps capable network.

The roll out covers the Hessle area (2,200+ properties), Beverley Road (2400 properties), Anlaby Road area (1800 properties), Boulevard area (around 900 properties), Sculcoates (1100 properties) and Bransholme area (around 400+ properties). Another 600 premises in the Newland Park area can also get broadband connection, the place where KCOM’s emergency Headquarters was located during the time of Second World War.

Chief Marketing Officer of KCOM – Cathy Phillips said that they feel delighted for continuance of their Lightstream roll out at pace and they are covering around thousands of properties with their leading full fibre broadband network every month. Their Lightstream deployment is going well in the final stage and they are bringing the power of ultrafast broadband to all the corners of their network.
