Humax introduces new DTR T1010 set-top box sans WiFi

Humax has brought out a new set-top box which is suitable for YouView(IPTV) services that is being offered by several ISPs of UK. Most ISPs like BT, KC, JT and TalkTalk offer the broadband based video on-demand and catch-up TV online. The set-top boxes, much like this one, come with the ISP’s bundle. However the YouView Humax DTR-T1010 can be bought separately. The box comes as a 500GB model for £299.99 RRP and another as a 1TB model for £329.99 RRP. They can be purchased from high street retailer John Lewis. Others like Dixons and independent retailers will have the boxes on their stores by the end of the month.

Although the new box has taken Humax 6 months or so to bring out this version, which is much like the earlier version, the DTR-T1000, the differences are not many. The set-top box still does not have WiFi functionality, although priced high. The new model boasts a silver finish on front but remains black as previous models. Strong competition already come with most modern digital TVs now coming with internet connectivity capability and with a price advantage.
