How to Use a Fax Modem

For using a Fax modem that allows the user to send documents to other fax machines one needs to follow some instructions.

Firstly, the user needs to read the instruction manual coming with the fax modem. Here will be designated the type of expansion slot to be used for placing the modem card inside the computer.

Secondly, the computer needs to be turned off and unplugged from the AC outlet. Now the user should remove its cover and install the fax modem by adhering to the maker’s instructions.

After this step, the computer needs to be placed inside its covers. Now the cable of the computer needs to be plugged back in the AC outlet. The user should also attach a phone line to a jack with ‘line’ mark on the fax modem, as one would generally hook any phone to the phone jack.

Now after booting the computer wait for the system’s fresh operating system to automatically find the fax modem and install the software required to run the device. If the OS does not find the software automatically th euser needs to use the CD and follow the instructions for installing the device.

Finally, the user can use the fax programme that accompanies the modem for sending or receiving the faxes. Generally, this is all about the programmes opening, specifying a phone number and commanding the software which file the user wished to fax.
