How Do I Set Up a Password for BT Broadband?

A customer of BT broadband service needs to establish a password for his broadband internet account as an essential measure in the process of installation if a password is needed for using the network.

Although, the broadband internet service rolled out by BT, the prominent broadband service provider operating in the United Kingdom, does not mandatorily require a password for using it, a password would do the customer a world of good if he plans to use the service with the help of a wireless broadband router.

Even though, the setting up of a password for such a service would seem difficult prima facie, it actually is pretty simple when done as per proper instructions.

The instructions mainly include three steps, which are given below

Step 1: The customer should choose a user name for his fresh BT broadband account. It is ideal that the user chooses a user name that could be easily remembered by him, still not giving out much information related to his personal identity.

Step 2: The customer needs to open the menu Settings and click on the option Set Up a Password, from it. The following page will give the customer the option to enter a password. If the customer has not engaged a router for accessing BT broadband, there is no necessity for a password. Nonetheless, the customer will be forced to type in a password to get the service to run, if he has engaged a router to connect to the internet.

Step 3: Now the customer is required to enter the password BT into the menu’s password box. This password is the sole one to work in conjunction with the hardware’s two pieces. As the next step the user has to select the Save option given at the bottom part of the screen.

At the completion of the final step the BT broadband servicewill engage the router to connect to the internet, with the customer having a password for this network.
