How Do I Set Up a New Broadband Connection in Windows Vista?

A broadband internet consumer can set up a fresh broadband internet connection within the operating system Windows Vista using a wizard, which walks him smoothly and quickly through the installation process. Here, the consumer need not modify the settings of his computer manually or using a third-party application.

The only requisite is to have the cable broadband modem connected to the user’s computer before starting the configuration process of the broadband UK internet connection.

As part of the installation process firstly the user is required to close any programme or file that is open. Then he can click Start followed with the Control Panel and subsequently the icon Network and Internet.

When clicked on the icon Network and Sharing Centre, an option comes located on the left side of the fresh dialogue box, which reads Set Up a Connection or Network. The user needs to click on this icon. Next step is clicking on the icon Connect to the Internet that prompts to choose a connection option.

Now shows a wording Broadband (PPPoE) next to a circle. The user is required to click exactly on this circle and type in the user name and password given by the internet service provider, in the boxes that appear against the wordings user name and password.

Following this the user is required to type in a name for his fresh broadband internet connection in a box given next to the wording Connection Name. This will lead the user to another wording Allow other people to use the broadband connection, which intends to allow every user account on the user’s computer to hold the ability to access the connection. The user should click on the box next to this.

Now the user can click on the wording Connect to finalise the broadband internet connection. Once this is done a message, You are Connected to the Internet appears before the user. By any chance if this message does not appear or the user receives an error instead he should click on his broadband connection name within the application Network and Internet to check his user name, password and broadband provider information.

As a final step he can now click on the Browse the Internet Now link to navigate to the internet browser of his computer.
