According to Techworld, the renowned IT specialist, the convenience offered by the Wi-Fi technology that allowed the users of laptops and netbooks to browse the internet on the move or at home, was considerably boosting the broadband market.
The editor of the website, John Dunn explained that although the Wi-Fi broadband concept had taken its time for the initial take off, it has now very much reached the critical mass. He added that Wi-Fi as a matter of fact, had got off the ground about five years back with prices plummetting and speeds improving, despite going nowhere for a number of years.

Dunn had given his comments in the wake of the report published by ABI Research that in 2011, 1 Billion Wi-Fi chipsets would be shipped all over the world. According to the editor of the website that specilaises in reviewing products, a boost in the number of portable gadgets in the world would provide the users with the opportunity of taking advantage of the future Wi-Fi.
