Global Terrorism could subside by Half Time Next Decade

Do we have today, a mass global terrorism package, where the works of existing and extinguished terror groups such as Al Quaida, Aum Shinrikyo, Neo Nazis, IRA and Shining Path combined, to reckon with? If you say no, what then could the derogative term – the global terrorism – be standing for in today’s world?

Osma Bin Laden Leader of Terrorist Group Al QuaidaWell, we have listened to the Queen’s Christmas message broadcast on both radio and TV at 3 PM on the 25th day of December, where she praised the commitment and bravery of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom serving in Afghanistan. She also expressed sadness at loss of British troops in her Christmas message. It is highly significant in the context that according to the monarch, a debt of gratitude was owed by the nation to all past as well as present troops that have served in the war-torn area.

Coming back to the term Global Terrorism; it is apparent today that the region bearing countries such as Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Pakistan is largely synonymous with the term. The relevant countries being called as terrorist states apply to the eyes of the beholder. For example, Pakistan may not be so for the United States and Iran, more or less the same for India and Russia.

However, the virtual epicenter of global terrorism today, has always been an obnoxious toad that even the hungriest predators aspire to steer clear of. As a matter of fact, there is nothing significant in this country to entice the aspirant forces. This ensured that whenever the country was raided by rival optimistic raiders, the raids were reduced to half-hearted attempts. Forces that invaded the region, throughout the history, such as the British, the Russians and now the Americans have well had experienced the pinch.

Whatsoever, today the situation has taken developed nations such as the US and the UK to a do-or-die platform, where a comprehensive victory over the extremists was the only thing that could be equated with a retrospection. The combined anti-terrorism troops today can only call a ceasefire, provided a complete routing of the extremist’s infrastructure. The tragedy is that this time the joint forces are not in a country that could afford to compensate their losses with something like – say oil. It makes it clear that Afghanistan is neither Saudi Arabia nor Iraq.

Right at the point of time when the joint forces were starting to think if they were staging a losing battle, a new as well as different result was being flashed brightly. This news is all about  terrorism in the area coming to an abrupt end all of a sudden, brought about by a development that comes from the most unexpected quarter, which is nothing but bringing forth a couple of utility attractions; a common currency and a universal broadband internet service in the region.

Now let us see what might transpire their in the coming five years. The good omen for the anti-terrorists is nothing other than the steadfastness shown by a country to cling on to its original and main principle – secularism. The country hinted at here is India that was always ready to risk war to counter effectively the destabilising impact of a status quo change. To be a bit more clearer, this country never wanted other states or groups to go against the sovereign principles of it, which was the priority than simply retaining the state of Kashmir.

The establishment of the South Asian Association for Regional Co-operation (SAARC) has been the main platform on which the great concept of wiping of terrorism from the earth’s crust could be conveniently launched. This is something same as that happened in Europe in the fifties when six nations in a rare display of their foresightedness, signed the Treaty of Rome on March 25 / 1951. It could also be mentioned here that the following establishment of the European Economic Community that had in its turn fixed the preamble to realise a more important thing called the European Union.

And we know that it laid the perfect platform to virtually nullify the extremist claims of the groups such as Spain’s Basque, Italy’s Catalan and Ireland’s Irish Republican Army (IRA). The million dollar question here is, “If Germany can join hands with France for achieving a common result in the early fifties when the wounds inflicted by the World War II were still fresh, why could not Pakistan and India do something like that?

A NATO Drone Strike at Terrorist Locations in HelmandIf you look for support, you have certain facts to ponder over such as the common currency proposal was brought forth by the Sri Lankan president, Mahinda Rajapaksa and was supported by the Male President Mohammed Nashid. Now as the ASEAN. African, Latin American and Gulf countries were going ahead with their common currency plan, the most troubled region in the world map definitely needed so badly the introduction of the same in the area.

Chuck Doherty, the broadband expert at the Broadband Suppliers reminds that since there are no other areas and peoples dedicated to extremism as ardently as here, and any positive turn out here can be considered as a great omen for the whole world to release some air of relief.
