Gigaclear’s additional investment in rural areas of West Kent

Gigaclear is an ultra-fast fibre ISP which aims to provide pure fibre services to rural areas to get best and strong connectivity.

Gigaclear has informed that they have made a further investment of £6.2m (total sofar £8m) for the expansion of gigabit based FTTP/H broadband connectivity to additional 4500 homes and business premises in West Kent in England expected to be completed by the end of 2020.

The ultrafast full fibre/FTTP is expected to cover the areas of east of Sevenoaks of which Crouch, Hildenborough and West Peckham will be the first to get benefited. The work will be getting commenced in the coming weeks and the residents are expected to get connections in this summer. The ISP provided its first connection to the property in Underriver village of Kent in 2014 and it has connected Dunks, Godden Green and Paxtol in 2015-16.

Business Development Director of Gigaclear – Joe Frost stated that they are having happy rural customers benefiting from their ultra fast broadband connection in Kent. The additional investment will help them to reach more number of areas in the county to provide ultrafast broadband services which will enable rural businesses to grow more and rural residents to do everything online.

Kent County Council Member-Economic Development – Mark Dance expressed that the county is coming up with advanced and fastest connectivity which is essential like water and energy to the residents and businesses. The investment by Gigaclear will make the county to be in par with large cities with regard to digital connectivity.

One of the residents of Underriver Village – Mike Clyne said that the ultra fast broadband speed really made a big change in their village. Before this connection the residents were struggled with slow connections. Being connected with full fibre the total village have been benefitted. They are happy about Gigaclear’s expansion in Kent also so that the other villagers will also reap the benefits of ultra fast connectivity.

The full fibre network of Gigaclear, at present covers 65000 plus homes and business premises in 22 counties across England and aims expansion to reach over 3 lakh premises with its upcoming contracts by the end of 2020.
