FTTP covers Poppleton with TalkTalk’s network

One of the leading ISPs in the UK, TalkTalk has recently informed that they have been in the process of deploying 1 Gbps capable FTTP network in the areas of York city and also reported that they have completed coverage of 33000 premises in the city and need to cover 55000 more premises by the year 2020. The latest news is that their 1Gbps FTTP network also reaches the Poppleton area of York city.

They have completed laying of ultrafast fibre optic cables covering 308 kilometres in the streets of York and they have also recently begun digging work in Heworth and Tang Hall moving towards the East of the city. In the last 3 years, the provider has covered the areas of in the North of the City in Rawcliffe, Huntington, Clifton, New Earswick, along with parts of The Groves with their network.

Leader of City of York Council – Cllr Ian Gillies said as UK’s first gigabit city, better and improved network connectivity will offer new opportunities for those residing and doing businesses in the city of York with huge pounds of investments. Now most of the areas in the city can able to get access to gigabit speed network and ensuring for fastest speed in every part of the area. It is a great time for the city as it is going to be benefited with the investment by the network providers for future proof digital transformation in the city with more connections to the premises that are expected this year.

Director of FTTP of TalkTalk – Alex Birtles said that they are committed to make York city with complete digital transformation as UK’s Ultra Fibre Optic city. Now the residents of Poppleton can enjoy the benefits with their full fibre network connectivity and they are under work to finish their network expansion across the city by the year 2020.
