Free broadband for Newcastle firms
Good news for small firms in Newcastle! Small companies in Newcastle, north-east England, possibly will be able to receive broadband free of costs if they be relevant for a particular scheme. As a part of Network Newcastle initiative, firms that want to add to their online presence could have their broadband costs funded for six months by the North East Regional Portal (TNERP).
On the other hand, businesses are recommended to apply for the funding soon. It is announced that the new scheme that is managed by TNERP on behalf of Newcastle City Council will close on 29th of June.
According to Maria Humphreys, the projects manager, it was more significant not to take too lightly the benefits broadband could bring. She noted that from doing business online to communicating and accessing information, the high speed broadbandcan help all the businesses save both time and money.
A current review conducted by Experian found that 80% of all businesses in the north-east now have a business broadband connection.
